The Emory Goizueta MBA Program has been ranked in the Top 10 MBA programs in the U.S. for career placement by the Financial Times in 2019. It has also been ranked as one of the best MBA programs in the U.S. by U.S. News & World Report, 2021. The class of 2019 of two-year, full-time Emory Goizueta MBA Program included 172 students. 30% of them were females. These students came from diverse backgrounds and had an average work experience of 5.7 years. 27% of them were international students. If you are thinking about enhancing your skills by applying to the Emory Goizueta MBA Program, there are many aspects that you need to know. Some of these are eligibility requirements, the application process, and how to prepare for it. These will be discussed at length here.

Course Curriculum

The Emory Goizueta MBA program is a two-year well-structured program. In the fall semester of the first year, students become a part of the Goizueta Career Connection event in which they connect with CEOs of different companies and alumni of the school. In the spring semester of the first year, Leader’s Reaction Course takes place which offers an opportunity to apply leadership skills in a business setting. This is also the semester for an internship. Students can also run for office in the student clubs of Emory Goizueta. There are 60 such student clubs.

In the fall semester of the second year, students get clarity on their professional goals under the Keystone Experience event. Students also get an opportunity to serve under the Leadership Coaching Fellow program. Finally, in the spring semester of the second year, students get international experience through a mid-semester module trip taken with faculty and other students.

Eligibility Criteria & Entry Requirements

Checking the eligibility criteria and entrance requirements are one of the most important things to do before applying. All MBA programs have different criteria. Let us see what all things are required to apply for the Emory Goizueta MBA program.

1) Transcripts of a bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record

2) Minimum full-time work experience of 2 years after completion of graduation

3) A good score in GMAT/GRE – The last class had an average GMAT score of 640-740

4) TOEFL/IELTS – In TOEFL, a minimum score of 100 iBT is needed and in IELTS, a minimum score of 7.0 is required.

5) Strong resume

Course Fee

The total tuition and fee are $138,797 for the Emory Goizueta MBA program. This includes mandatory fees of $4,352 and a tuition fee of $134,200. There are other costs related to the program like:

  1. a) Living costs – $19,278
  2. b) Books – $1,275
  3. c) Health Insurance – $3,200
  4. d) Parking – $981

These costs are just for calculating estimate figures.

Scholarships

The MBA Admissions Committee of the school awards many scholarships and fellowships from their annual fund based on academic achievements, work experience, etc. These range from partial to full tuition along with a stipend. For applying to these scholarships, no separate application is needed. All the applicants who have submitted their applications by round 3 are automatically considered for scholarships. It is recommended to submit an application by round 2. Some of the scholarships are mentioned below:

Robert W. Woodruff Scholars – This includes full tuition and fees and an annual $10,000 stipend guaranteed for the length of the Full-Time MBA.

Named Scholars – These are awarded by alumni, companies, etc. All applications submitted by round 3 are considered.

There are other scholarships as well like:

  • Goizueta Scholars
  • Bank of America/Mills B. Lane Scholarship
  • El Paso Corporation Diversity One-Year Program Scholarship
  • Goetz MBA Scholarship

In addition to the above-mentioned scholarships, another is Reaching Out MBA Fellowship which is awarded to 1-2 LGBT or active ally students each year. These are awarded on the basis of not only academic skills but also leadership skills for the LGBT community. There is an essay question that needs to be answered to avail this scholarship:

Placement Statistics

The employment statistics of the Emory Goizueta MBA program are quite good. In the last class, 97% of the students received job offers within 3 months of their graduation. The average base salary was $127,248. The students were placed in different areas like consulting, marketing, finance, operations, general management, etc. The top recruiting companies were well-known names like Accenture, Amazon, Gartner, Grant Thornton, PwC, etc. Check here for more details.

How to Apply

While applying for the Emory Goizueta MBA program, the first thing to check is the application deadlines. The information about the deadlines of their three rounds are as follows:

Round 1 – The application deadline for round 1 is September. Notification for it comes in December and the deposit due date is in January.

Round 2 – The application deadline for round 2 is January. Notification for it comes in March and the deposit due date is in April.

Round 3 – The application deadline for round 3 is March. Notification for it comes in April and the deposit due date is in May.

Following are the steps to apply for the Emory Goizueta MBA program:

1) Complete the application form and upload all the required documents like transcripts, GMAT/GRE score, TOEFL/IELTS score, resume, essay questions, etc. The details have already been discussed in the eligibility and requirements section of the article.

2) After the completion of the first step, an application fee needs to be paid which is non-refundable in nature.

3) Some applicants are called for interview after the review of their file. Only those applicants get the invite for interviews whose applications have been selected by the applications committee of the school.

The interview is one of the most important things in the entire process. An interview lasts for about 30 minutes.

Following are the essay questions of the Emory Goizueta MBA program:

1) Define your short-term post-MBA career goals. How are your professional strengths, past experience, and personal attributes aligned with these goals? (300 word limit)

Provide an example of your leadership in a professional setting and explain what you learned about yourself through the experience. (300 word limit)

Video essay – One of the below-mentioned questions needs to be answered.

1) Of Goizueta Business School’s core values, (Courage, Integrity, Accountability, Rigor, Diversity, Team, Community), which one resonates the most with you and why?

2) What is the best advice you have received and how have you used it in your life or career?

3) Outside of family and work, what is something that you are passionate about and why?
