The UConn School MBA program has been ranked number 1 in New England by the Bloomberg Business Week as well as TFE Times. They encourage diversity in their students who come from different academic backgrounds, professional backgrounds, and geographies. The class of 2019 had 40% of females and a total of 60% international students. They had an average work experience of 6.4 years. The average age of the class was 29 years. Course Curriculum

The course curriculum of the UConn School MBA program is divided into two years. The first year includes the required core curriculum of 36 credits. The courses of the core curriculum consist of three major areas – business foundations, core functional knowledge, and leadership. The second-year includes elective courses that can be chosen by students according to their interests. Some parts of the required courses are also taken in the second year.

Eligibility Criteria & Entry Requirements

Before deciding to apply to the UConn School MBA program, it is important to check all the requirements and eligibility criteria for it. They have been listed here –

2) A minimum work experience of two years

3) Essay

4) Post-secondary official transcripts

5) One letter of recommendation

6) A good GMAT/GRE score – The class of 2019 had an average GMAT score 639. The average GRE score was 153 in Quantitative and 149 in Verbal.

7) TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo score

8) A minimum GPA of 3 four-year Bachelor’s degree or the final two-year GPA is expected.

Course Fee

The tuition fee for resident students and international ones is different. For domestic students, the tuition fee is $16,908 whereas it is $38,820 is the tuition fee for international students. Other than tuition, there are other fees that are the same for domestic as well as international students. Their list is as follows –

Hartford University Fee – $112
Infrastructure Maintenance Fee – $468
Graduate Matriculation Fee – $84
Student Activity Fee – $32
Transit Fee – $40
Technology Fee – $150

Other than these, there are additional expenses related to living, books, health insurance, parking, and incidentals, etc.

Scholarships

For well-qualified students, scholarships are available at the UConn School MBA program in the range of $1000 to full tuition waivers. Scholarships are awarded on a one-time basis. Graduate assistantships are also available that include tuition waivers, semester stipends, etc. A limited number of scholarships are awarded to students based on different factors like scores in GMAT/GRE, professional experience, academic performance in undergraduate degrees, etc.

Placement Statistics

Since the UConn School MBA program is one of the best in the region, the placement statistics also reflect the same. The median placement is 93%. The median base salary and sign-on bonus of the last class is $110,000 and $27,500, respectively. 24% of the placements were in the technology sector while 18% were hired in the manufacturing sector. 15% of the students got placed in consulting. How to Apply

While applying to the UConn School MBA program, one needs to remember the application deadline dates. There are different rounds of admission which have their respective deadlines for submission of application. These are mentioned below –

Round 1 – The application deadline date for round 1 is November 1.

Round 2 – The application deadline date for round 2 is February 1.

Round 3 – The application deadline date for round 3 is April 1.

Round 4 – The application deadline date for round 4 is June 1.

The first step is to fill the online application and submit all the necessary documents that have been discussed in the earlier sections. The application fee of $75 needs to be paid online while submitting the application.

The UConn MBA Admissions Committee reviews the completed application and sends invites for interviews to selected applicants. All the interviews are conducted through Kira Talent. This is an online platform. The interview has 5 questions. The answers need to be recorded and submitted.

The essay question that is asked in the application is –

Why are you interested in pursuing your graduate business degree at this stage in your life/career? What are your short-term and long-term career goals and how will this graduate business program help you achieve these goals?
