Schulich School MBA Program Course Curriculum

The core courses in the curriculum of the Schulich School MBA Program consists of 33 credits. These are some common courses that all students go through to gain management capabilities in public, private, and non-profit sectors. Some of the core courses are Financial Accounting, Skills for Leadership, Information Systems, Quantitative Methods, etc. Other than these core courses, there are 27 credits of electives that focus on a specialization in a particular area. Students become eligible for graduation after they complete 60 credits. If a student receives advanced standing, she/he can shorten the duration of the MBA.

Eligibility Criteria & Entry Requirements

1) A minimum of B grade is required in the last two full years of academics during the undergraduate degree is required. The degree should be from a recognized post-secondary institution. Transcripts would be required.

2) A decent score in GMAT is required. However, the average GMAT score of the class of 2019 was 670. Its range was 550-750.

3) Minimum full-time work experience of 2 years after the relevant degree is required.

6) Latest resume

7) Two references

8) If the studies have not been completed in English, then, proof of English language proficiency is also required. It can be either of these two:

  • IELTS – A minimum overall score of 7 is required with a minimum of 6.5 in each area.
  • TOEFL – A minimum of 100 iBT with a minimum of 23 in each area.

How to Apply for Schulich School MBA Program

Now comes the most important part of this post, that is the actual process of applying for the Schulich School MBA Program. The different steps of this process are explained here:

1) Creating Profile – The first step is to create an online profile of the applicant on their system. An email will be sent to the applicant to create a password. The application can be made for one program only.

2) Uploading Required Documents – After the first step, an applicant needs to upload all the documents like transcripts, resume, recommendations, essay questions, video essays, etc.

3) After this, the applicant would be required to pay an application fee of CAD 150 online. This fee can be waived off if the applicant has been a student of Schulich.

The applications are reviewed following the deadline of each round. International applicants should apply as early as possible. Essays play an important role in the selection process of any B school as they give a detailed insight into an applicant’s attitude and personality.  The applicants need to answer the essay question within a word limit of 350. The timed written essay needs to be complete in up to 5 minutes.

Optional Essay – If you want to highlight any gap, or any other part of your journey, which you believe needs justification, feel free to use optional essay question.

In the video essays, there will be two questions that are selected randomly from a collection of possible topics. These need to be recorded and the time given to respond to each question is 90 seconds. Here are some tips for video questions.
