Curriculum

London business school provides several planned core courses & numerous electives to its students to make them ready to face real-life challenges that wait ahead. The school also offers pre-term core courses, where students start learning even before coming into the campus. The pre-term core consists of subjects like Finance, Accounting, & quantitative methods. The main aim is to ensure that students possess the required skills before the start of the term.

The term starts with basic business fundamentals core subjects like Microeconomics, Finance, Strategy, Marketing, Accounting, Operations Management, Business Ethics, Data Analytics, etc.

The core courses are taught in the first two terms to make the students gain the required basic knowledge of every subject. After the second term, students have an option to customize their pattern with the tailored core courses provided by the school. It includes topics like Digital Strategy, Business Analytics, Value Chain Management, Strategic Economic Analysis, Financial Reporting, etc. Along with the above courses, the school also provides numerous electives on subjects like Accounting, Finance, Management Science and Operation, Organizational Behavior, Strategy & Entrepreneurship, etc.

Students can complete between 10-12 electives according to their interest area & career goals. Classes can be scheduled flexibly, as preferred by the students, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and intensive block weeks. Other than this, students take part in many programs throughout the year, including the Global Business Experience Programme, International Exchange Programme, Summer School, etc.

Eligibility

Class 12th & Graduation:

There’s no minimum cutoff for your class 12th or graduation results. The applicant just needs to have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.

Work Experience:

According to the official website of London Business School, two-year work experience is mandatory for students applying to the MBA program. According to the class profile of 2019, the average work experience of the class was 5-years with a range of 2-13 years of work experience. Applicants without the work experience are suggested to apply for LBS Masters in Management program.

Tests & Exams:

A valid GMAT or GRE score is a must requirement to apply for the London Business School MBA Program. Although there’s no minimum score requirement mentioned in the website, the average GMAT score for the class of 2019 was 708. You can plan your score accordingly. Please note that the admissions committee may ask you to retake the GMAT before sending you the offer. Other than the GMAT/GRE score, students coming from non-native English speaking countries need to take the English Proficiency Tests like TOEFL, PTE, IELTS, Cambridge CPE or CAE to prove their command over the English language.

Course Fee

The Tuition fees of the London Business School MBA Program for one year come at 87,900 UK Pound. The tuition fee covers the full-length of your MBA program. (irrespective of your chosen exit point) The tuition fees also cover your flights & accommodations for your ‘Global Business Experience Programme’

Along with the tuition fees, there’s a required Student Association Fee of £240 that covers your Student Association (SA) subscription. Other than this, students have to bear living expenses according to their lifestyle. Considering the fact that London is one of the most expensive cities in the world, the average amount including your accommodations, food, transportation, health & emergency, books & supplies, and basic needs will come at around £13,000-15,000 for one year.

Scholarships

All the applicants enrolled in the London Business School MBA Program are automatically considered for the scholarship & awards. There are numerous scholarships provided by LBS. Many of the awards are Gender-specific, Industry-specific, & Region-specific and are awarded to students fulfilling the eligibility criteria. Some of the prominent scholarships that are open to all MBA applicants are SARI Foundation Trust Scholarship, London Business School Fund Scholarships, Mo Ibrahim Foundation Scholarship. Along with the scholarships, various loan options are also available to the students. One of the most sought out loan options is Prodigy Finance that funds 100% of course fees, depending on individual eligibility.

The graduating batch of 2019 bagged an average overall annual package of US dollar $106,837, and average other compensation of $46,711. The application process for the London Business School MBA Program is highly competitive and selective. Given below is the detailed admission process:

  1. Interview

After you apply for the program, your application is evaluated rigorously by the LBS admissions committee. And if you clear the first stage of application shortlisting, your Regional Admissions Manager will begin the process of finding alumni in your region to interview you. Interviews are conducted by alumni or senior admissions staff of the MBA Programme within the region you are located. After your interview, an interview feedback form will be submitted by the alumni to the admissions committee, who will evaluate your feedback form combined with the initial application and come to a final decision.

Essay Tips & Details:

There is just one essay question you need to write on, to apply for the London Business School MBA Program. There’s an additional optional question, which you should appear, only if you think there’s something the admissions committee should know that is not clarified in your application.

Question 1 (500 words)

“What are your post-MBA goals, and how will your prior experience and the London Business School program contribute towards these?”

It is a very general question which every business schools ask its applicants. Narrate your short-term post-MBA goals & how will your short-term goals play a part in achieving your long-term goals.
