Kelley School MBA Program is offered by the graduate business school of Indiana University. Established in 1920, the school carries 100 years of rich experience & legacy. Curriculum

For the Kelley School MBA Program, students are required to choose majors and minors to build business fundamentals and gain a global perspective. The major & minor options include Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, and Corporate Innovation, Finance, Management, Marketing, Strategic Analysis of Accounting, & Supply Chain Management. All these are STEM-designated by the US government. Though the major, you will earn 15 credit hours, which is 10 classes of required coursework. To earn a minor in another academic discipline, you generally need to take an additional 6 credit hours or approximately 4 courses.

In addition to the major, all Kelley MBA students choose a first-year Academy. Through this, you will develop marketable skills through professional experience. You will gain a deeper understanding of the industry by getting exposure to the industry leaders. The Academy options include Business Marketing, Capital Markets, Consulting, Consumer Marketing, Strategic Finance, Supply Chain, & Digital Enterprises.

Kelley also offers certificates programs to help you extend your expertise beyond the major & Academy to gain knowledge in various organizational issues. The school offers three certificate programs in Global Business Achievements, Product Management, & Social Entrepreneurship. The school also offers various Global opportunities, including the international exchange program, where you get a chance to study abroad in leading business institutions around the world. Some of Kelley’s partner institutions include CEIBS Shanghai, HKUST Hong Hong, Melbourne Business School, NUS Singapore, ESADE Barcelona, Waseda Business School, etc.

Eligibility

The school expects the incoming students to understand Algebra, know a way around the Spreadsheet, & have a baseline knowledge of statistics. The students must show demonstrated leadership skills.

Academic Requirement:

The school requires students to have the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree, which usually follows 16 years of education. Students educated in India are expected to complete the Part 1 exams of a university master’s degree following a 3-year bachelor’s degree to be eligible for graduate consideration.

There is no minimum graduate GPA required to apply for the Kelley School MBA Program. However, the average GPA of the current class is 3.34.

Professional Experience:

There is no minimum work experience required to apply for the program, but most incoming applicants come with at least 2 years of full-time work experience. The average work experience of the class of 2021 is 5.6 years.

Standardized Tests:

All the applicants are required to submit a valid GMAT or GRE test score to be considered for the Kelley School MBA Program. There is no minimum cutoff mentioned by the school. However, the average GMAT score of the current class is 666. Nearly 90% of the class has a score of 600 or above. Additionally, if English is not your first language or you have not completed your previous study entirely in English, then an English proficiency test is required. The school accepts TOEFL & IELTS, and the minimum score requirement for the same is 100 & 7.0, respectively.

Course Fee

The tuition fee for the Kelley School MBA Program for the academic year 2020-21 is $51,454. Along with this, students are also required to pay a one-time mandatory fee of $2,272. Other expenses for the year include room & board ($13,906), books & supplies ($1,950), transportation ($2,958), & miscellaneous ($4,078).

Scholarships

The school provides several fellowships & scholarships opportunity to exceptional students. Generally, there is no application required to apply for the same. All the students are automatically considered. Some of the popular awards offered by the school are as follows:

Merit-based Scholarship:

More than half of the students receive this scholarship, ranging from $10,000 to full tuition fees. There is no additional application required to apply for this award. It is awarded through the admission process and based on the applicant’s academic performance, GMAT/GRE score, professional experience, & application strength.

Dean’s Fellowship:

It covers two-years of full tuition fees of truly exceptional students. The scholarship committee considers your work experience, test scores, undergraduate performance, & leadership potential. Moreover, Dean’s fellows have access to the Kelley Dean’s Council, a group of leaders from some of the most important companies in the world.

Kelley School of Business Merit Fellowship:

It is awarded to students with strong academics & leadership skills. The amount ranges from $7,500 to full tuition fees.

The Forte Fellowship:

The school, in partnership with the Forte Foundation, offers fellowship amounts ranging from $15,000 to full tuition fees to exceptional women candidates. The school looks for women with demonstrated vision who can make a powerful impact in the business world. Along with these scholarships, private loan options are also available to fund the MBA journey. Most financial institutions in the United States look for a cosigner for approving the loan.

Placements

The Kelley School MBA Program has been ranked #3 in career service by the Financial Times in 2020. The median base salary received by the class of 2019 was $115,000. Students placed in the consulting industry packed the highest median base salary of $145,000, followed by those placed in the financial services at $120,000. Interview:

The interview for the Kelley School MBA Program is by invitation only and conducted by admissions committee members, administrative staff, or by the current second-year students. The interview is blind and lasts for 30-45 minutes. Along with the standard interview questions, case studies are fairly common. The school recommends you be clear, be honest, be genuine, & be relaxed, throughout the interview. The interview can either take place on-campus, off-campus at major cities around the world, or via Skype. Last year, Kelley School conducted its off-campus interview in Gurgaon, Haryana.

Essay Details & Tips

To complete your application for the Kelley School MBA Program, you will have to submit the response of these essay questions. The school asks for 2-3 required compositions that are as follows:
