INSEAD MIM Program Details and Highlights

The INSEAD MIM Program is one of the best MIM programs that focuses on problem-solving orientation and follows an innovative learning approach. The program’s length is of 14 to 16 months. The INSEAD MIM Program has been ranked as one of the top MIM programs by the Financial Times.

Class Profile

The last class of the INSEAD MIM program had 97 students with an average age of 22 years. They belonged to 26 different countries with an average work experience of 1 year. 39% of the total students were women. The class had a good diversity in it as all the students came from different kinds of academic backgrounds.

Course Structure

The INSEAD MIM program follows 12 case-based core courses. They cover a big range of topics that teach about different aspects of being a good leader. Practical skills are taught through a series of specialised blended workshops. The course curriculum also includes optional field trips to Abu Dhabi, China, the USA, etc. The total duration of the INSEAD MIM program is 14-16 months.

The course is covered under different periods on the school campuses. Periods 1 to 5 are covered in 10 months from September till the next July. Periods 1 to 4 cover core courses and workshops while period 5 has electives too. One can choose 8 electives as per one’s own preferences and inclinations. After July, there is a professional exposure period of 4-6 months in which students can either work as an intern or in a full-time role.

Application Requirements

While applying to the INSEAD MIM program, one must ensure to complete all the requirements of the application. The application needs to be filled online and it is recommended to have all the requirements with you beforehand. These requirements have been mentioned here in detail –

1) The first task is to complete the online application form which covers all the personal data of the applicant.

2) Resume

3) Academic transcripts of all the colleges/universities attended by the applicant are required. For international students, the transcripts need to be submitted with officially certified translation (if applicable)

4) 2 recommendation letters – The letters should come from individuals who know the applicants in a professional or educational capacity

5) Essays – The following essay questions need to be submitted in the application –

a) How would you introduce yourself? (Maximum 200 words)

b) Tell us what you have been doing since graduating from secondary education and what motivated your choices? (Maximum 200 words)

c) Share your short and long-term career aspirations with a MIM from INSEAD. (Maximum 100 words)

d) Optional essay – Is there anything else that was not covered in your application that you would like to share with the Admissions Committee?

6) GMAT/GRE score – The GMAT score range of the students enrolled in the INSEAD MIM program is 620-730 (middle 80%).

7) For international applicants where the mode of teaching was not in English, scores on English language proficiency tests are required. TOEFL/IELTS/PTE scores can be submitted.

Course Fee and Scholarships

The total tuition fee for the INSEAD MIM program is €49,000. This covers all the things like course material, library charges, student council fee, gym access, health insurance, etc. This fee is to be paid in three instalments.

The first instalment is €8,000 that needs to be paid one month after admission. The second instalment is €27,000 that needs to be paid by mid-July for rounds 1,2,3 and 4 and by the beginning of August for round 5. The third instalment is €14,000 that needs to be paid by January.

There are different scholarships available for the students to help finance their INSEAD MIM program. Some of the scholarships have been mentioned here –

1) Diversity Scholarship – As the name suggests, this is granted to those students who help in making the class profile diverse in terms of background, professional experience and personal profiles.

2) Achievement Scholarship – This scholarship is granted on the basis of academic as well as personal achievements.

3) Financial Fellowship – This scholarship is granted on the basis of financial need.

4) Singapore Scholarship – This scholarship is granted to citizens of Singapore or Singapore Permanent Residents on the basis of their achievements.

How to Apply

While applying to the INSEAD MIM program, application deadline dates need to be kept in mind. There are different rounds of admission, the details of which are mentioned below –

Round 1 – For the first round, the complete application needs to be submitted by the end of September of the previous year. The final notification date is at the end of November.

Round 2 – For the second round, the complete application needs to be submitted by the first or second week of December of the previous year. The final notification date is at the beginning of February.

Round 3 – For the third round, the complete application needs to be submitted by mid-February. The final notification date is in mid-April.

Round 4 – For the fourth round, the complete application needs to be submitted by the beginning of April. The final notification date is at the beginning of June.

Round 5 – For the fourth round, complete application needs to be submitted by the beginning of June. The final notification date is in mid-July.

The application fee is EUR 180. After the completion of the online application, applicants are required to record a video interview on the “Kira Talent” platform. The Admissions Officer would send an e-mail to the applicant within one week of receiving the application. The next process is either a face to face interview in the country of residence of the applicant or through Skype.

On the basis of the application as well as feedback from the interviewer, an applicant is either accepted or rejected. The final decision is sent by the final decision deadline of the round of admission.

If you want to secure a seat at the INSEAD MIM program, you should focus on the holistic presentation. One must put efforts in all directions like essays, interview, resume, etc. It is definitely doable with a good strategy and confidence.
