Candidates for IIM AHMEDABAD ONE YEAR MBA undergo a rigid selection process involving GMAT and a personal interview. Interviews are executed across India and select international locations. We sometimes encourage students to appear for interviews through online mode as well. While the average GMAT score is on the upside of 700, the average work experience is over 8 years. Candidates arrive from various industries in their prior work experience, including defence, oil and natural gas, energy, IT and IT services, automobiles, electronics, education, aviation, agriculture, healthcare, finance, government agencies, food processing, etc. This diversity is much needed to enhance individual understanding. The much-needed modern skill of being interdisciplinary in their thought process becomes feasible with such a diverse batch.
IIM AHMEDABAD ONE YEAR MBA is renowned globally for its thoroughness in academics, and PGPX, which is a vital part of the institute, is no exception. The predominant pedagogical tool at IIM AHMEDABAD ONE YEAR MBA, namely the case method, also provides students avenues to apply their abstract learnings to real-life problems. PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
It follows a six-segment course structure, with each segment seamlessly joined to the next. The segments are

Induction: Spread over two and a half days, it allows the students to get friendly with the infrastructure, and co-curricular and extracurricular activities while adapting to the program content and the IIM AHMEDABAD ONE YEAR MBA method of learning.
Building Blocks: It gives the students a grounding in the fundamentals of management, crystallizes and enhances their basic conceptual and analytical knowledge for managerial effectiveness.
Preparing for Top Management: It improves the students’ skills, facilitating them to better understand the dynamics of complex management problems.
International Immersion: It equips students with knowledge of macro-level dynamics and unfamiliar economic environments in a foreign country.
Electives: The students are delivered a broad spectrum of elective courses including marketing, finance, supply chain management, strategic management, and several sectoral areas. While electives depend on student interest and faculty supply, this allows students the freedom of electives in areas of passion and proficiency, bringing about every student’s experience customized to his or her chosen growth path. It is also a chance to analyze new areas of learning and an opportunity to evaluate and leverage past experience
As part of the ‘electives’ segment, students can opt for an Individual Research Project (IRP). The project is implemented by PGPX participants with a faculty advisor. The outcome is a high-quality written output, which could be any of

• A business plan for an entrepreneur
Capstone: It provides a chance to integrate learning from the entire program, and evaluate one’s own experience as an executive.

FEES
The programme fee for the 2021-22 batch for IIM AHMEDABAD ONE YEAR MBA is INR 28,00,000. The fee comprises tuition, books and course materials, accommodation, and other facilities such as a library, Wi-Fi and sports. The programme fee is subject to change every year. International immersion expenses ranging from INR 2,50,000 to 3,50,00 be borne by the students.
