DAmore McKim School MBA Program is offered by the Business School of Northeastern University, a private research university in Boston, Massachusetts. Established in 1922, it is one of the oldest private business schools in the United States. The DAmore McKim School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business. The school offers several undergraduate & postgraduate degrees in the field of business and commerce. The DAmore McKim School MBA Program was ranked #83 globally by the Economist and received 4 Palmes accolade by Eduniversal in 2018. Additionally, the school’s online MBA program is constantly ranked under the Top 10 program by the Financial Times in its Global MBA Ranking.

The school has produced more than 50,000 alumni, who now represent an impressive range of positions in business, non-profit organizations, & government agencies around the world. For the class of 2021, 60 students enrolled in the DAmore McKim School MBA Program. The class consists of 53% women candidates & 20% International candidates from around the world. In this article, we shall let you know everything you need to know before applying for the DAmore McKim School MBA Program.

Curriculum:

In the DAmore McKim School MBA Program, you will complete 55 credit hours. Your MBA journey will start with the foundation core courses where you will gain the necessary business skills and expertise. Some of the core subjects include Financial Management, Strategic Planning, Social Impact of Business, Managing the Organization, Customer Value and The Enterprise, etc.

You will also be required to complete 15 credit hours of electives. It will include experiential learning, business electives, & other interdisciplinary electives. In the interdisciplinary electives, courses are offered in partnership with select partnering Northeastern colleges.

In the second-year of your DAmore McKim School MBA Program, you will be required to take two concentrations, with at least one concentration in business. The school offers business concentrations in Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Finance MBA, International Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, etc. Other concentrations are offered in Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, etc.

During the summer, the school also offers several international programs to help students gain Global experience. These international programs help the students to develop critical skills necessary to compete and succeed in the global market. In the past, the students have traveled to several countries across the world, including Israel, Morocco, Peru, etc.

Eligibility:

Academic Requirement:

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline to be eligible to apply for the DAmore McKim School MBA Program. There is no minimum graduate GPA required to apply for the program. However, the average GPA of the current class is 3.4.

Professional Requirement:

The school doesn’t have any minimum full-time post-graduate work experience requirements. However, good work experience with career progression will give you an edge over the other applicants.

Standardized Tests:

Students must submit a valid GMAT or GRE score to successfully complete the application for the DAmore McKim School MBA Program. The school has not mentioned any minimum score requirements for the same. However, the average GMAT score of the current class is 621. And the average GRE score of the current class is 152 for quantitative and 154 for verbal.

International students are also required to prove their command over the English language by submitting English proficiency tests scores like TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE. If a student has completed his previous study entirely in English, he will be exempted from this requirement.

Course Fees:

The total cost for the DAmore McKim School MBA Program is $98,400. The MBA program costs you $1,640 per credit hours. Students are required to complete a total of 60 credit hours. International students are also required to pay a one-time student fee of $350.

The school offers on-campus accommodation. The yearly expenses for the same come in between $4,000-$5,000. Students are also required to have a health plan. The annual amount for the Health plan generally comes at $2,000. Along with these, students must also consider other expenses like books, transportation, & personal expenses.

Scholarships:

The school provides several fellowships and scholarship opportunities to the admitted students. This helps the students to finance their MBA journey. Some of the popular awards offered by the school are as follows:

1. Northeastern Merit-based Scholarship:

It is awarded to outstanding candidates. Selection is based on the strength of your application, including your undergraduate record, previous work experience, professional recommendations, standardized test scores, or any other application materials. The award amount for this scholarship ranges from partial to full tuition fees.

2. MBA Achievers Scholarships:

It is also a merit-based scholarship that is offered to high achievers. The scholarship decisions committee considers your work experience, advanced degrees, & GMAT/GRE score. There is no additional application required to apply for the same. All the students are considered for this award.

3. Reaching Out MBA Fellowship:

This fellowship is created as a means to empower the LGBTQ community by helping them to become a business leader of tomorrow. The recipient of this fellowship receives $10,000 per academic year. They also receive access to exclusive mentorship and other leadership development programs.

In addition to these scholarships, students can also apply for private student loans to fund their MBA program. The school recommends several financial institutions, including Sallie Mae, MPower Financing, Citizens Bank, etc. Students must compare different loan schemes and select the best available option.

Employment Statistics:

From the class of 2019, 90% of the students accepted a job offer within 3 months of graduation. The average employment salary received by the students was $87,190. Students placed in the technology industry packed the highest average salary of $96,000, followed by the students placed in the Financial Services at $91,273.

Interview:

After your application is evaluated and reviewed by the admissions committee, you may receive an interview invite. The interview for the DAmore McKim School MBA Program is offered by invitation only. The interview is conducted by the members of the admissions committee and lasts for 30-45 minutes.

International students are generally interviewed via Skype. During the interview, you must be clear, concise, and confident while responding. The admissions committee prefers students who are authentic and genuine in their responses.
