The Columbia School MS in Management Science proposes a Master of Science in Management Science and Engineering degree. This program is specifically designed for those who strive to solve analytical problems from both Engineering and Management perspectives. The program is designed in a 3-semester curriculum whose key feature is year-long operations consulting. During this operation consulting the students have the opportunity to personally engage with our partners from multinational companies and work on Real-world business challenges.
You are authorized to choose 3-4 consulting projects throughout the program to acquire industrial experience.
Overview:
After various interchanges with Alumni, students, and different corporations this program was formulated and was brought into the structure. It shapes your personality with both Business Management and Engineering perspectives to solve problems, make beneficial decisions and manage threats in complicated operations. A demanding divulgence to optimization and stochastic modelling is offered to the students pursuing the Columbia School MS in Management Science program.
An equivalent to 12 three-credit degree programs, this is a 36 credit degree program that implies ample practice in probability as well as statistics. Students are supposed to take at least 6 courses at the IEOR department and at least 3-to 4 at the business school.
Students are authorized to choose from one of the six core modules, namely, Operations & Analytics, Pricing & Revenue Management, Entrepreneurship & Innovations, and Logistics & Supply Chain Management.

- Analysts and associates in consulting firms
- Business analysts in logistics, supply chain, operations, or revenue management departments of large corporations

Program curriculum:
The Columbia School MS in Management Science (and Engineering) is a program divided into three semesters that can be completed in a single year. The students have the opportunity to enrol from the fall term and finish off the program by August or they can take the summer term off for a summer internship and finish off the program by the end of next fall term.
Students are supposed to take at least 6 courses at the IEOR department which amounts to 18 credits (three to six courses at the business school). In case any course resides it can be pursued at the School of Engineering, the School of International and Public Affairs, the Law School, or the Departments of Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics. The residential students usually take two to four Business School courses in the third semester during the summer term to complete their program.

Admissions:
The Columbia School MS in Management Science (and Engineering) program is a full-time degree course that receives applications from the start of the fall. In case you are interested in the admission you are requested to submit a completely updated application with the required documents (see the required documents section for more).
We recommend you apply by the deadline date as the reviewing and assessment of applications begins immediately after the prioritised deadline and the IEOR department does not accept rolling applications. After the submission of the application, we take approximately 6 to 10 weeks to properly assess and review your application. You are guaranteed to receive your result as soon as possible after the assessment of the applications. The only compulsion is the time limit, that is, the application needs to be submitted early.
The Columbia School MS in Management Science (and Engineering) does not permit you to defer once your application is approved and you are enrolled in our program. Therefore it is highly recommended that you only apply to this program if you are 100% confident about it.
Documents Required:
- GRE Reports: It is not mandatory to submit a GRE test report. However, if you have appeared for the test and you have your reports ready, you can attach them to your application to strengthen it more.
- GMAT reports: As for GRE, GMAT reports are also not mandatory to be submitted however you can still attach them with your application to strengthen your application and make it more attractive and effective.
- Bachelor’s degree: We expect you to have a four-year bachelor’s degree. Nevertheless, we accept a three-year bachelor’s degree as well but you must have additional knowledge for the Columbia School MS in Management Science (and Engineering) programs prerequisites. Although we do not have an official prerequisite for our program yet we expect our students to have additional knowledge in multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and probability & statistics. We would appreciate it if you know computer programs like C + +, Python, and Matlab. Altogether, our priority is quantitative skills than computer programming with some official work experience and internships, etc.
- English proficiency test reports: You must score more than the listed marks in the following test to prove your English proficiency. However, there is no compulsory score for the admission criteria:
- TOEFL: > 99 (Internet-based test)
- IELTS: > 6.5
- PTE: > 68
- Duo Lingo English test: > 119.
- Letter of Recommendation: The applicants have to compulsorily submit 3 letters of recommendation (LOR) out of which two must be from an academic reference.
- Video Interview: In case, your application after assessment gets selected and you are approved for enrollment, you will be asked to submit a video interview. Wherein you will be asked 3 random questions. We recommend you answer the question as if you are sitting in a face-to-face interview. Do not panic while answering. Answer honestly and just be yourself. You will get 3 minutes to answer the questions. This is conducted to know you better therefore we appreciate honest answers.

The total tuition fees for the 36-credit Columbia School MS in Management Science (and Engineering) program is $79,056.
