Beedie School MBA Program has been specially designed for early to mid-career professionals and entrepreneurs who need a good push to be the best versions of themselves. Students from technology, engineering, finance, arts, etc. come here to build their futures in their desired direction. It is a 12-month program that starts in September. There are around 50 students in a typical class that come from different backgrounds. The average age of students is 29 years with an average work experience of 5 years. 52% of the students were females in the last class. In this post, we are going to be discussing different aspects related to admissions in the Beedie School MBA program like the requirements to apply, their course curriculum, fee details, etc.

Course Curriculum

Beedie School MBA Program is a 12-month full-time MBA program. The beginning of the program is with a pre-MBA online orientation. This would include the basic knowledge of Excel and Financial Accounting. The core curriculum is divided into 4 semesters that happen in fall, spring, spring/summer, and summer. Each semester has a set of different courses that are covered during that phase. Some of the courses of the fall semester are Business Ethics, Financing & Managerial Accounting, Financial Management. Some of the courses of the spring semester are Managerial Economics, Marketing Management, Managing Information, etc.

In the third phase, the MBA International Applied Project helps in gaining a global perspective on business. Students are required to choose between two international destinations. The last semester focuses on applying all the learning that had been given during the Beedie School MBA program. At the end of the 12-month period, students can choose among the following options:

  1. a) Paid four-month work term
  2. b) Starting a new venture
  3. c) Moving into a permanent position

Eligibility Criteria & Entry Requirements

Every school has its own eligibility criteria and entry requirements. Let us discuss the requirements for the Beedie School MBA program.

1) A four-year undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.33 (B) or a grade point average of at least 3.33/4.33 (B+).

2) GMAT score -minimum requirement is 550. Although the students have an average GMAT score of 620.

3) GRE minimum score should be 155 in each section. But a competitive score in GRE would be 310+ on the combined verbal and quantitative section.

4) Minimum work experience of 2 years after completion of an undergraduate degree.

5) English proficiency tests like:

  1. a) TOEFL – minimum score of 93 with at least 20 in each category.
  2. b) IELTS – overall band score of 7.0 with a minimum individual score of 6.5

6) In case an applicant is not a Canadian citizen, a valid Canadian student Visa would also be required.

Course Fee

The tuition fee for domestic students is CAD 42,135. The tuition fee for international students is CAD 55,825.

Additional costs are mentioned here:

An estimated amount of CAD 5,500 – CAD 6,000 for the international applied project course. CAD 250 would be required for the Business & Indigenous Communities course. CAD 2,500 is the student fees per year that will go in health insurance, transit pass, etc. CAD 2,200 is required for course materials.

Scholarships

All the students that are admitted to the Beedie School MBA program are considered for scholarships automatically. They need not fill separate applications for scholarships. The decisions about scholarships are taken by the Admissions Committee. Scholarships are awarded to up to 50% of the students admitted to the Beedie School MBA program.

Placement Statistics

The placement statistics of the Beedie School MBA program are very impressive. 96% of the students got placed within 3 months of completion of graduation. How to Apply

The first thing that an applicant should see before applying to any college is the application deadlines. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis in Beedie School. There are 4 different rounds of entrance in the Beedie School MBA program, the deadlines of which have been mentioned here:

Round 1- November 6

Round 2- January 29

Round 3- April 2

Round 4 – June 18

Now, let us see the different steps of applying to this MBA program. The first step is to fill the online application form using the Graduate Studies Application System. Within 7 days, you would be required to pay the application fee. For Canadian applicants, the application fee is CAD 90 whereas, for international students, this fee is CAD 125. After the submission of the application fee, the applicants should start uploading all the required documents like transcripts, GMAT/GRE score, resume, and all the others that have already been mentioned earlier in the article.

Also, provide a title and a brief description that would appear on a website or printed program. (up to 500 words)

Optional essay

Please provide any additional information that you would like to share with our Admissions Committee. This may include an explanation of your previous academic performance; performance on standardized exams such as GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, or IELTS; any gaps in employment; or any other information you deem relevant. (up to 250 words)

Once an applicant receives the acceptance level, she/he has 21 days to submit a non-refundable deposit of CAD 2,000. This will ensure the seat in this MBA program.
