Alliance Manchester MBA Program is offered by the University of Manchester in England. Established in 1965, the school is the second-oldest business school in the United Kingdom. The school has received triple accreditation from AACSB, AMBA, & EQUIS. The Alliance Manchester MBA Program has been ranked #36 by the Financial Times in its Global MBA Ranking 2018. Curriculum

At Alliance Manchester MBA Program, you’ll have to take five required core courses to build fundamental skills of management. The core subjects include Operations & Marketing, Business Accounting & Finance, Strategy & Competition, Exploring Business & Management Practices, & Leading and Managing in a Global Environment. You will also be taking electives out of several options offered. Some of the elective subjects offered by the school include Investment & Portfolio Management, Social Entrepreneurship, Negotiation Skills, Digital Marketing Strategy, & Big Data Analytics. The school also offers overseas elective opportunities to MBA students.

Additionally, you will be taking various mandatory projects including, a Not-for-profit consultancy project, Mergers & acquisition project, Commercial business consultancy project, & International business consultancy project. In the commercial business consultancy project, you will be working with external clients to solve a real-world business problem. It will challenge you & prepare you for the International business consultancy project.

Generally, this project takes place in companies based in the United Kingdom. Some of the previous clients include BMW, Cisco, American Express, Marks & Spencer, & Jaguar Land Rovers. The International business consultancy project will take you around the world from Toronto to Tokyo. Your group will undertake an international consultancy for a live client. It is your opportunity to pitch yourself as a future employee.

The previous clients include Audi, CIPLA, Pearson, Tesco, & DRL Group. Additionally, the school also offers international exchange programs, where you get a chance to spend three months in an overseas leading business school. Some of the Alliance’s partner institutions include CEIBS Shanghai, IIM-A, Melbourne Business School, SDA Bocconi School of Management, & Marshall School of Business.

Academic Requirement:

The school requires you to have a good bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

Professional Requirement:

You must have a minimum of 3-years of post-graduate full-time work experience to be eligible for the Alliance Manchester MBA Program. The average work experience of the current class is 6 years, with a range of 3-10 years.

Having an international exposure or entrepreneurial experience will be a plus point for you during the evaluation process.

Standardized Tests:

Students are required to submit a satisfactory GMAT/GRE score. You can also choose to take Manchester Admissions Test (MAT). The school has not mentioned any minimum score requirements for these tests. However, the typical average GMAT score is 650. International students are also required to take the English language tests like PTE & IELTS. The minimum score requirement for PTE & IELTS is 59 and 6.5, respectively.

Course Fee

The tuition fees for the full-time Alliance Manchester MBA Program are £44,000. It covers your total tuition cost and includes stage one core course textbooks. Please note that the fees are the same regardless of you opting to complete your MBA program in 18, 15, or 12 months. Other than the above costs, the estimated living expenses for a single student for 52 weeks are £13,145. It includes university accommodation (£7,465), meals (£2,025), clothes (£520), local transport (£535), & miscellaneous expenses (£2,600).

Alliance MBA Women in Business Scholarship (In support of Forte Foundation):

It is awarded to talented female candidates from all nationalities with an excellent academic, career progression, personal achievements, & demonstrated leadership skills. The scholarship covers up to 50% of the tuition fees. An additional application & essay is required to apply for the same.

Inspirational Leaders Scholarship:

It is awarded to students with exceptional leadership qualities. To be eligible, the applicant must have a minimum of 6 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a strategic leadership position. Along with these scholarships, you can aid your MBA through private loan options. The school recommends Prodigy Finance to international students.

Interview:

The interview for the Alliance Manchester MBA Program is by invitation only. It can either be conducted on-campus or via Skype. The interviewer is generally a member of the admission team.
