Warwick School MBA Program is offered by the Business School of Warwick University. Established in 1967, it is one of the most prestigious and highly selective business schools in the world. The school offers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, & executive programs. The Warwick School MBA Program has been ranked #36 by the Financial Times in its Global MBA Ranking 2020. The school has also been positioned #1 in the world by the Financial Times in Online MBA Ranking. The school has produced several influential alumni who now live all around the world. For the batch of 2020, 112 applicants from over 40 countries enrolled for the Warwick School MBA Program. The male to female ratio of the class is 3:2, and the average age is 32 years. In this article, we shall let you know more about the Warwick School MBA Program.

Curriculum

The Warwick School MBA Program Curriculum starts with taking the required modules. You will have to study eight required core subjects to gain a solid foundation in management, business, & leadership. In addition, you will also complete a compulsory non-credit foreign language module. The eight required modules include Marketing, Strategic Thinking, Operations Management, LeadershipPlus, Accounting, and Financial Management, Organizational Behavior, Innovation & Creativity in an organization, & Management in a new world.

The school also offers a wide range of elective modules to suit your needs. You will have to customize your MBA program by choosing 4 electives according to your interests & career goals. Elective subjects are focused on various areas including, Finance & Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Strategy, etc. Students also get an opportunity to select one overseas elective module, as per the availability.

You will also take a consultancy project in your one year of MBA journey. You will have an opportunity to deliver a real positive impact through your individual consultancy project. You will work alongside a real organization for 10-12 weeks over the summer period. It will provide you with a hands-on experience of consulting on a specific business challenge. Some of the organizations were students have previously worked include Tata Motors, Ford, EY, Barclays, Microsoft, Unilever, etc.

Students also get an opportunity to participate in exchange programs at a leading overseas business school, for up to four months after completion of their full-time MBA from Warwick. Please note that the school will not count modules taken by you at the exchange school towards your final grade. However, you will receive a transcript from the host school detailing your result. Eligibility

The school looks for applicants who are intellectually outstanding, mature, creative, have strong interpersonal & communication skills, demonstrated leadership skills, potential to succeed, and the ability to work in a team.

Academic Requirement:

The applicant must have an upper second class honor at the undergraduate level from a UK university or the equivalent from an overseas university. Furthermore, the school also accepts applications from candidates who do not have the academic qualifications but are exceptional with a proven ability to achieve & make an impact.

Professional Experience:

All the applicants are required to have at least 3-years of postgraduate work experience to apply for the Warwick School MBA Program.

Standardized Tests:

A valid GMAT or GRE score is a must requirement to apply for the Warwick School MBA Program. While there is no minimum score required, the average GMAT score of the class is generally 660.

The Warwick test may also be available as an alternative for some candidates depending upon the circumstances. Additionally, international students are required to submit English language tests like TOEFL, PTE, & IELTS to prove their command over the English language. This requirement can be waived if your first language is English; you have graduated from an English speaking country, or have worked in an English speaking environment for at least two years.

The minimum score requirement for TOEFL, IELTS, & PTE is 100, 7.0, & 70, respectively. The school also accepts Cambridge English Exam (CAE) & Cambridge Proficiency Exam (CPE). The minimum score requirement for both these exams is 190.

Course Fee

The fee for the 2021 entry is £43,950 (that is around 43 Lakh INR). It includes registration, tuition, examination, some study materials, flights, visas, & some subsistence for the compulsory overseas trips. The fee doesn’t include your residential accommodation, meals, travel & transportation, and exchange program (if you take any). However, the school provides on-campus accommodation. Living on campus costs between £432 and £544 a month for a single room while living away from the campus costs between £300 and £560 for a one-bedroom property. Other yearly expenses include food & toiletries (£3,050), books & materials (£520), & miscellaneous expenses (£2,775).

Scholarships

The school provides several scholarships to students. The awards are based on the evidence of individual impact, alignment with WBS’ core values of curiosity, openness, restlessness, & excellence. The student must have a desire to make a positive impact in the world. Students who apply early have a stronger chance of getting a scholarship. The scholarship amount ranges from 20% up to a maximum of 50%, in truly exceptional cases. Students are required to submit an essay outlining why they believe they should be awarded a scholarship in 300 words. An MBA from Warwick gives you an ultimate return on investment. The average base salary received by the class of 2019 was £91,022. Along with this, the average bonus & other benefits received by the students were £22,755 and £17,210, respectively.

Interview:

After an initial review of the application by the selection committee, you may be invited for the interview. Remember that the interview is an extremely important process. The majority of the interview questions are designed to test your motivation and suitability for the role. The interviewer is very much interested in how you answer these questions. Be confident, honest, & yourself throughout the interview. Do not panic or oversell yourself. It’s fine to pause before answering any questions. Essay Details & Tips

To successfully complete your application for the Warwick School MBA Program, you will have to submit 2-3 required essays. The school comes up with new essay questions every year. Last year, the school asked the applicants to submit the following essays:

Warwick Essay 1: Please describe your main interests and leisure activities, and any other experience or involvement that has significantly influenced your career or personal development. (200 words)

Warwick Essay 2: Please explain your principal reasons for wishing to join the Warwick MBA. Describe your career aspirations, the contribution you will make to the program and, if you will be sponsored, the value you will add to your sponsoring organization.  (200 words)

Warwick Essay 3: Choose from one of the following two topics: Either “In your opinion, what are the key issues facing your organization over the next five years?” OR “Identify the major strengths and weaknesses of an organization of your choice. If you were the CEO, what three things would you change?” (1000 words)

Warwick Optional Essay: Please use this essay for any additional information that was not captured within your application. If you feel you’ve already provided sufficient information about yourself, you need not add anything here. (500 words)
